This big year of 7, the year before baptism, the year before 2ND GRADE, and for us: the year of monumental changes.
(Corbyn's real birthday is the day we sign the paper's for the optometry practice and the day we begin remodel of said practice. We thought it would be nice to celebrate early and add more chaos to the moving/remodeling/buying a business for the first time chaos. Nice it was.)
Debu of his birthday festivities
and his
BUILD AND DESTROY PARTY
(said in my monster truck rally announcing voice)
Fine. It was said in my most convincing monster truck rally voice
Taylor's sticky buns aka monkey bread have pretty much taken over birthday breakfast's for my boys. It is the most popular dish. And why not? It's caramel covered bread....dessert at it's finest-and I let you eat it for the most important meal of the day.
This face pretty much sums up his birthday emotion this year. Birthdays just get to be more and more fun as he get's older.
I have started the unfortunately fabulous tradition of big time consuming cakes for birthdays. It is fabulous because my boys love them more than you would expect. Fabulous because I am learning a new skill, and fabulous because it is fun to do. The unfortunate part being my sensae Kelsey is letting me move away. I am not so sure how the cake building is going to happen without her guidance and brilliance. Plus, spending 10 hours on a cake all by yourself doesn't sound like fun to me.
Corbyn's party theme was pretty much the coolest theme he's come up with thus far. And naturally the boys all jumped in line to destroy things. We knew Elena (while not masculine in any way) would fit in quite perfectly despite the manly festivities. She did.
Jay seems quite stunned
Very proud of their water balloon launching damage
The happy crew lining up for destruction of cake. Ty looks a little....
eh....
birthday-ed out.
At the birthday dinner it is tradition to go around the table and in your most awkward mannerisms and voice state why you so desperately love the birthday girl/boy.
This year provided some good laughter. I love thinking about my child's shiniest qualities and praise praise praising them. When you add the awkward voice it just wreaks of fun-ness.

Ah, what a spectacular birthday celebration!!! Jonas was looking at the pictures wondering who y'all are... bummer that he doesn't remember some of the coolest people from Optometry school days...
